Faith

We believe in One God eternally existing in Three Persons.

In One God — same substance (homoousios).

  • As Father, God created the world and put the plan of salvation and redemption in place.  He is omnipresent.

  • As Son, God (the Logos) became man, died and rose again — fulfilling the plan of salvation.  He is omnipotent.

  • As Holy Spirit, God continues to sanctify and reveal Himself to those who believe in Christ.  He is omniscient.

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let us make man in our image...

We believe in Holy Baptism as the sacrament of divine salvation—giving us faith and making us part of the body of Christ, the Church.

2 Timothy 3:16 - He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved...

We believe in Holy Communion as the sacrament of divine forgiveness — partaking the real presence of Jesus Christ in the elements of bread and wine.

1 Corinthians 10:16 - The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

Faith Alone

Only when the Holy Spirit brings man to faith can he be saved. Redemption is wholly the work of God. Man is justified by faith alone, and not by good deeds.
